Geek Toys

The article states, "...while Americans are tightening their belts, they're also discovering that saving money doesn't have to be painful. Buying a low-priced smartphone can feel like a splurge without much impact on your wallet."

Studies showed that in 2008, smartphone sales went up twelve percent from 2007. Which makes sense because the smartphone can do so much from e-mails, keep in touch with personal and professional contacts, news, and many other features. The plus side is that you can do it on your own time, at your own pace. You don't have to be stuck behind a desk anymore to do all it of. You can be taking a hike, sitting on a log, and do business talk.

More and more people are cancelling their land line phones and have converted into using their cell phone as a "home" phone. It's logical, it's cheaper. According to this article, the Palm Treo is by far the more popular phones among college students. The Palm is offered at a cheaper price (depending on carrier) and the only thing that college students need is the internet and texting right at their fingertips.

The Palm is almost everything you need if you don't have a bunch of money to spend: touch screen, QWERTY keyboard, internet access, communication by email-chat programs-text, and it's got a stylus! Woohoo for STYLUSES!
